A nurse also saw the crash and responded down the embankment with Deputy Grimes. The infant was found conscience and breathing. Deputy Grimes had to performed CPR on the adult until the Shreveport Fire Department arrived. Both were transported to University Health. The adult was being treated for life threatening injuries.
The crash is being investigated by the Traffic Safety Unit. According to Sheriff’s Investigator Sgt. Mike Vaitkus, the roadway did not have ice on it and weather was not a factor.
